Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said his US counterpart Joe Biden, by accidentally referring to him as Russian President Vladimir Putin, made a mistake that could be forgotten, given all the support the United States has given Ukraine.
Biden mistakenly referred to Zelenskiy as Putin during a NATO summit in Washington on Thursday, before correcting himself two seconds later.
“It was a mistake. I think the United States has been very supportive of the Ukrainians. I think we can forget some mistakes,” Zelenskiy told reporters Saturday at Ireland’s Shannon Airport, where he met with Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris.
