We see more and more high-quality animations emerging, and over time, there have been attempts to remake classic cartoons, such as Thundercats and He-Man, with new animations and even higher quality. But there are a multitude of old drawings that deserve a continuation.

Following the example of what we did more recently with X-Men ’97, which is a direct continuation of the classic 90s animation, we’ve put together a list of 10 old cartoons that deserved (and still deserve) a worthy continuation.

Evolution of the X-Men

“X-Men Evolution” aired in the early 2000s, featuring a young version of Marvel’s iconic mutants. The series stood out for its innovative approach, focusing on the teenage life of the X-Men as they deal with their powers and personal conflicts. At the end of the animation, a “hook” was left, in which Professor Xavier had seen the future and we get a glimpse of what the characters would look like and what possible enemies we would see, something that did not come to fruition in the old cartoon, but which could come to life in a sequel.

Justice League Unlimited

“Justice League Unlimited” is one of DC Comics’ most acclaimed animated series. With a diverse cast of characters and complex storylines, the series has managed to capture the essence of superhero comics. A sequel could further expand the Justice League universe, introducing new heroes and villains, as well as addressing contemporary issues through the lens of superheroes.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987)

The 1987 “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” are pop culture icons, known for their action-packed adventures and humor. While they’ve received several reimaginings over the years, a direct continuation of the original cartoon could appeal to nostalgic fans and new viewers alike.
