The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season two may finally solve the mystery surrounding the identity of the Stranger.
One of the greatest mysteries of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power concerns the identity of the Stranger, character appeared in the first season of the Prime Video series and Tolkien fans have always suspected that it might actually be Gandalf.
At the end of season one, this theory gained even more popularity when he said “always follow your nose” to Nori (Markella Kavenagh), a quote from Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings The showrunners Patrick McKay AND J.D. Payne spoke about the matter to Collider.
“It takes all the ingredients”explains McKay. “We feel like a Lord of the Rings series without a wizard who feels that the things that the wizards of Lord of the Rings make you feel would seem like they don’t make sense… we don’t want to assume where the characters will end up. We want to see them grow and change along the way.”.

Patrick McKay did not reveal whether the identity of the Stranger (Daniel Weyman) is actually Gandalf’s, but he indicated that this could be confirmed in the future in The Rings of Power:
