Cachorro Grande Announces Return to Action with 25th Anniversary Tour

The band will tour around Brazil with the classic lineup: Beto Bruno, Marcelo Gross, Gabriel Boizinho and Pedro Pelotas

On the 25th anniversary of its foundation, Cachorro Grande is reuniting for a series of celebrations. The band, which officially ended its activities in 2019, will embark on a special anniversary tour that will visit the main capitals of Brazil. During the presentations, the group will take the stage with its classic lineup, which includes founders Beto Bruno on vocals, Marcelo Gross on guitar, Gabriel “Boizinho” Azambuja on drums and Pedro Pelotas on keyboards. Together they will play their greatest hits, with songs such as Você Não Sabe o Que Perdido, Que Loucura!, Lunatico and Sinceramente.

The first show will be in Porto Alegre, on September 27, at 9:30 p.m., at the Araújo Vianna Auditorium. “It’s where our story began. I can’t wait to hit the road with the kids and play in our first venue,” Beto celebrates.

The desire to live together again and travel around the country has grown little by little over the last six years. After announcing their end in 2019 and the launch of Beto Bruno and Marcelo Gross’ solo careers, the band decided to play two shows in 2022, which quickly sold out in Porto Alegre and São Paulo. They met again in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, in 2023, and in May of this year, they sold out in less than ten days all the tickets for the solidarity show they gave at Cine Jóia, in the capital of São Paulo, to raise funds for those affected by the floods in Rio Grande do Sul.

“The last few shows have sparked a desire to play together. We are very happy about this reunion,” says Beto.

The audience’s receptiveness and the energy on stage encouraged the confirmation of the tour. “It was very gratifying to be together again and feel the chemistry between us and the audience. People are moved by affective memory, and there is a new generation that hasn’t seen the band yet and is excited about the shows,” Gross comments.

The 25th anniversary tour is organized by Maia Entretenimento in collaboration with Stage Minds and will include cities in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Minas Gerais and many other states. The dates and locations of the shows will be confirmed soon.

“We are very proud to be part of this important moment for Brazilian rock, participating in this new chapter of Cachorro Grande. I am sure that the fans will have a great time”, emphasizes Gustavo Sirotsky, director of Maia Entretenimento.

In 2024, Cachorro Grande also celebrates the 20th anniversary of its second album, “As Próximas Horas Serão Very Boas”, recently re-released on vinyl by the Maleta Discos label. The work was mastered from the original analog tapes and contains songs such as Que Loucura! and ciao amico. “It’s one of my favorite albums, available in a double edition on 45 rpm vinyl. It’s the only Cachorro Grande album that hasn’t been released on vinyl yet”, explains Beto.

With more than ten albums and DVDs released, Cachorro Grande has one of the most relevant works in the musical world of this century. The band has been considered the most important rock’n’roll band of its generation by MTV Brasil, has already sold out in several cities in Brazil and has participated in the main music festivals in the country, in addition to being chosen for a series of openings for great international icons, such as Aerosmith, Iggy Pop & The Stooges, Primal Scream, Supergrass, Oasis and the Rolling Stones.
