RIP Let’s love each other alive! On TF1: How much is this new comedy with Claudia Tagbo worth?

This Tuesday 16 July from 9.10pm, TF1 broadcasts the first two episodes of RIP Aimons nous vivants, its new comedy hosted by Claudia Tagbo. From the perspective of Josephine, Guardian Angel, and Camping Paradise, this fantasy fiction follows a funeral home owner who meddles in the lives of her clients, for better and often for worse…

A funeral director… unlike any other

Ann-Lise, a single mother without a stable job, has her life turned upside down when she learns of her father’s death. The latter actually bequeathed to him the management of the funeral company he founded. The one who did everything to escape from the city of his childhood and especially from this sick business, seems to be brought back by fate.

Although she is initially reluctant to take over the management of the company, Anne-Lise quickly realizes that this could be her opportunity to solve all of her problems.

Starting with his morbid need to interfere in people’s lives. Especially when they are grieving customers trying to solve their personal problems.

Accompanied in his task by a group of employees, each atypical of the previous one, he will try to prove to the world that there is no marriage without tears and there is no funeral without laughter!

A shocking family comedy

Written by Varante Soujian and Thomas Pon and directed by Frédéric Berthe (Les Randonneuses), RIP Let’s Love Us Alive! is a family comedy that should appeal to as many people as possible.

The two authors managed to transform the world of funeral directors, with its rather harsh connotations, into a funny and warm world. If the first episode is somewhat lacking in rhythm, perhaps due to the need to introduce characters and establish issues, the second part finally gets to the heart of the matter and allows us to establish the theme and dynamics of the series.

Through her funeral company, Anne-Lise intends to intervene in the lives of her clients, risking ridicule with investigations that are far from fruitful. Despite some weak dialogue, RIP Let’s Love Us Alive! Relies on well thought out jokes that are meant to make the audience laugh.

Claudia Tagbo combines comedy and drama

To play the role of Ann-Lise, TF1 called Claudia Tagbo, who recently played in the series “Disappearance Disappearance” or “Le Crime” suits her so well. The comedian brilliantly manages to bring this colorful character to life, who will do anything to save the family business.

Helping her in her quest are Marie-Hélène Lentin (Peps) and Guy LeClois (Les Bracelets rouge), who play former co-workers of Anna-Lise’s father. In turn, Philippe Lelouche (Clem), Ornella Fleur (The Divorce Club), Janis Abrich (This Is Where It All Begins) and Samuel Bambi play new employees who are not invested in their mission.

Pascal Legitimus lends his qualities to Anne-Lise’s ex-husband, while Shirley Bousquet (Un si grand soleil) plays her new wife, who is the first to humiliate our hero. Antoine Duler and Arthur Choisne are fierce rival funeral directors who are willing to do anything to get her back. Finally, Arno Binar (Emile in Paris) plays a priest who loves boxing and beautiful motorcycles, who will not leave Anne-Lisa indifferent.

In short, RIP let’s love each other alive! There’s an effective and funny pilot that sets the tone for the rest of this comedy, which will air on the channel soon.
