A story inspired by true events

Behind Closed Doors Directed by Rufus Sewell, Shirley Henderson, Olivia Williams, Alan Tudyk and Indira Varma, Diner à l’anglaise is Matt Wynn’s third feature film, his first as a commercial director. story English dinner He came to her after his friend’s suicide.

He explains in the press kit: “A few years ago, two men I knew killed themselves in exactly the same way. He hanged himself from a tree in someone else’s yard. These almost identical stories were shocking, but they had a special resonance for me because a friend of mine killed himself in the same way a few years ago.

All I know from this experience is that recovery is not easy. Suicide leaves a terrible mark. Especially in the lives of those who remain. I began to think about how these two suicides affected the lives of the owners of these orchards. It seemed like an interesting starting point for the story.”

How will you react?

The filmmaker imbued his story with a heavy dose of dark humor and wanted to show the privileged background characters whose lives are seemingly perfect. Little by little the masks fall and the truth emerges within groups of friends and even couples. The filmmaker wanted to ask the audience how they would react if they lost everything.

Speaking about his characters, Matt Winn elaborates: “Do their “civilized” values keep them on an equal footing or turn them into monsters? I wanted the audience to think about the question: What would we do if the shiny things of our daily lives – a comfortable home, a car in the garage, a vacation once or twice a year… suddenly disappeared? I decided to make a very dark comedy to find the answer.”

The feature film is played by a 4-star cast Shirley Henderson Seen in Trainspotting and Bridget Jones Baby, Rufus Sewell appeared in The Illusionist and The Feast, Olivia WilliamsCamilla’s interpreter in The Crown, American Alan TudykFamous for his vocal participation in Disney films (Encanto, Wish…) and IDeera Varma (Game of Thrones).
