Avengers 5 and 6: A surprise return for the next Marvel movies?

Is this one of the surprises planned by Marvel Studios during the San Diego Comic-Con panel that has been revealed in advance?

A few days before the event, on Saturday, July 27, The Hollywood Reporter Announces that Joe and Anthony Russo have begun talks to return to the MCU and direct… Avengers 5 and 6 are scheduled to hit our theaters on April 29, 2026 and May 5, 2027, respectively.

If a reunion were to happen, it would be the fifth and sixth films from Marvel directors and writers, after two Captain Americas (The Winter Soldier and Civil War) and as many Avengers (Infinity War and Endgame).

Feature films that have grossed more than $6.7 billion worldwide. Including nearly 2.8 for Avengers Endgame alone, which was the biggest hit of all time for a while before Avatar took advantage of the re-release and reclaimed its crown.
