On Thursday evening, the first footage from the filming of the series “The King and the Jester” appeared on the network. FROMThe series about the great St. Petersburg horror punk band will be filmed and shown exclusively by Kinopoisk. They also said that the actors were selected with the help of folk casting, and as a result, there are almost no well-known faces in it, only fresh types that fit the appearance of the musicians. So, Mikhail “Gorshka” Gorshenev will be played by Konstantin Plotnikov, an actor from St. Petersburg, who plays in the theater “Tsekh”. The viewer can recognize him from Roman Vasyanov’s film Dorm and the TV series Vertinsky – where he had episodic roles. Andrei “Knyaz” Knyazev will be played by VGIK graduate Vlad Konoplev, who can be seen in Lado Kvatania’s video for the Noize MC song “Honor the Elders” and in the series “My Big Secret”.
The director will be Rustam Mosafir, the screenwriter is Dmitry Lemeshev. The production team included Dmitry Nelidov, Olga Filipuk, Alexandra Remizova, Alexander Syrov, Elena Melnikova and Agata Nigrovskaya. The author of the idea, together with Andrey “Knyaz” Knyazev, was music producer Igor “Panker” Gudkov, who shot three cult KiSh concert films: “The Buffoon Holiday”, “The Men Ate Meat” and “On the Edge”.
Pot once said that he would like to live in a fairy tale, in a fantasy, so we decided to tell their story in a not quite typical biographical form through songs, through bright heroes and a huge amount of bright material that has accumulated over the entire musical career of Pot and Prince. We will have not only musical performances, behind the scenes of the creative process and concert tours, but also a fantasy world where the characters of the songs will come to life,” said Rustam Mosafir, director of the series.
The cast also included Daria Melnikova, Valeria Zoidova (“Policeman from Rublyovka”), Daniil Vakhrushev (“Fizruk”, “Christmas Trees”), Ilya Lovkiy (“Voronins”, “Hotel Eleon”), Danila Rassomahin (“Kitchen “, “Hotel Eleon” and “Grand”), Jan Ilves (“Wild”), Vassa Bokova (clips “Rock-Paper-Scissors” Little Big and Danila Poperechny’s YouTube series “Nothing funny”). And Alexander Adabashyan, Alexander Klyukvin and others will appear in the episodes.
Filming will last until October, and subscribers of the service will be able to watch the series in 2023.
