Aurora confronts William with the truth
The police arrested William at the police station by Martin, in the presence of the Auror. He says that Caroline contacted him after they hadn’t seen each other in twenty years because she was afraid of the idea that Blank, against whom she testified in the kidnapping case at home, wouldn’t attack after killing his boss, Guillaume Druet. . So William agreed to help her fake her death, then hosted her at his home until she obtained false papers to leave the country. So Martin tries to find out where Caroline is, but William says he doesn’t know any more. The police chief decides to place him in the police force.
Aurora and Sarah then look for evidence of Caroline’s anonymous testimony in Blank’s case. They find out that he lied: it was a certain Albert, who anonymously testified about Blank’s condemnation. Aurora realizes that Caroline has manipulated William and is now facing 20 years in prison for complicity in the murder.
Aurora joins her husband in his cell to explain to him Caroline’s lie: she killed Drouet, then used William to get out of it. The latter cannot believe it. He explains that he wanted to help her because he felt obligated to her. Indeed, psychologically fragile, Caroline took it very badly when she left him at the time. Convinced that he didn’t know he killed Drouet, William reveals that Caroline is at the hotel. Aurore sends the team there, but Caroline is no longer there.
Later, Manon goes to her father’s cell. She promises to get him a good lawyer who will prove that he was manipulated, and then urges his father to continue cooperating with the police. In this way, it encourages him to think about important details that he might forget. William asks to speak to Martin to let him know that Caroline will be leaving the country by sea, indeed noticing a new box of seasickness in her bag. But without a specific destination, the police are not that far ahead. William then offers to contact Caroline and make her believe she wants to go with him so the police can catch her. Martin accepts.
After contacting William, Caroline arranged to meet him on a deserted street. Aurora is ambushed, a few meters away. Suddenly, Caroline arrives on a motorcycle. William immediately accuses her of deception and manipulation. At the same time, Aurora gets out of the car and points a gun at Caroline. He responds by robbing in turn. William stands between the two women and begs them not to shoot him. He insists that Caroline surrender. After threatening William, the latter manages to escape on a motorcycle, while Aurora gets into a car to chase after him. Does he have a chance to catch on?
