Warning, spoilers. The following paragraphs reveal plot elements from the final episode of Star Wars: The Acolyte.
After six weeks of airing on Disney+, The Acolyte has finished airing its eighth and final episode. Created and produced by Leslie Headland (Russian Doll), this new Star Wars series immerses us in the era of the High Republic, during which the Jedi Order is at its peak and prosperity reigns.
The balance is tipped when several Jedi are killed. Jedi Master Sol (Lee Jung-Jae) investigates and discovers that it is Mei, the missing twin sister of his former Padawan Osha (Amandla Stenberg), whom he took under his wing after her home was destroyed by a wizarding society.
The Jedi Master also learns that May was trained by a Sith named Kimiri or the Unknown (Manny Jacinto), who is a former Jedi who turned to the dark side of the Force and seeks revenge.
The final episode of The Acolyte had many fan responses and resolutions for most of the characters and still. Many questions are left unanswered, and the appearance of two main characters of the expanded universe of Star Wars opens up intrigues that have yet to be explored.
Is Star Wars: The Force Awakens Season 2 Possible?
So, is this open ending to the first season of Star Wars: The Acolyte a sign of season two? Showrunner Leslie Headland explained Entertainment Weekly he has “It’s All On Season 1”But “Who knows what will happen?”.
If he finds the resolution of the first season satisfying, he’s still wrong to think he’s willing. “4 or 5 elements and mysteries that can only be explained in the second season”. But Leslie Headland prefers to wait for confirmation from Disney and Lucasfilm before specifically starting to develop ideas for other seasons.
“It will probably be more because I know what needs to happen and I know what the character development needs to be to hit the story and character points for season two, three or four.”he explained “So I’m looking forward to working on that, but so far, I haven’t.”
Although The Acolyte series is not the highest-rated Star Wars fiction, it can rely on the mobilization of fans who have launched a campaign on social media to renew it with the hashtag #RenewTheAcolyte.
I urgently need 2 seasons. There are many more stories here. #Acolyte #refresh acolyte pic.twitter.com/twmrMVyIel

Other fans are looking for any indication that Disney and Lucasfilm are considering a second season of The Sidekick, as the user below pointed out that the official Star Wars X account is preparing fans to see a “season finale,” ie. A season episode, not a “series finale” or series finale.

And the terms used are significant because the official Star Wars X account used the same words for Ahsoka’s finale, and the Rosario Dawson-led series was indeed renewed for a second season. Will fan mobilization bear fruit?
According to Leslie Headland, discussions are ongoing at Lucasfilm. “I don’t know when this decision will be made”he told her Nerdist. It’s all in the hands of the studios.
“Star Wars: The Acolyte” Season 1 is available on Disney+.
