After the Sharknado saga, the niche subgenre of “hurricane-fused animals” took off—literally. Today is a storm of cats threatening humanity: welcome to Catnado, a parody of the disaster movie Twisters, which has released its trailer, and the least we can say is that it is. Sharknado has competition!
In the program, as promised, cats and tornadoes – and all the splendor of a low-budget film!
“As chaos reigns, a diverse group of individuals have only one mission: to stop this feline rampage.“, we read in the official synopsis of the film. “But against such odds and with only one life per person to spare, their fight for survival becomes a catastrophic battle for survival. And when the fur flies, it will be meow-sacred!“
Or more simply, as IMDb describes it: “It’s like Sharknado, but with cats“. Direct and effective. It is said.
Directed by team Tim Ritter, Donald Farmer, Curtis Everitt and Allen Huntington, Catanado Erica Rowell Green, Joshua Otto, Blair Kelly, Serena Salieri and Tucky Williams will star – at least on the human casting side. The film is part of a series of deliberately absurd feature films such as Shark Exorcist and Sharks of the Corn.
If Catanado No release date yet in France, in the United States, the film will be released on VOD and DVD on October 22, 2024 from Wild Eye Releasing.
Otherwise, in the meantime, Twisters, the sequel to the 1984 cult film starring the late Bill Paxton, this time starring Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glenn Powell, can be seen at your nearest cinema.
