‘Bridgerton’ Season 4 Already Has A Star: His Story In The Books, Release Date And More

Netflix has revealed that the fourth season of “Bridgerton” already has a protagonist and a love story, none other than Benedict (played by Luke Thompson), the second son of the Bridgerton family.

The streaming platform made this announcement via a short clip that shows a remix of scenes from the series and culminates with a collage of Benedict. This character, known for his artistic spirit and his search for a purpose beyond societal expectations, will bring a new dimension to the story.

In an interview with Variety, executive producer Shonda Rhimes revealed that her intention was to make at least eight seasons, each dedicated to developing a different sibling’s love story.

“Everyone will have their own story in each season. “There will be one for every Bridgerton.”

In the speech, he stated that each installment will set the stage for the next, focusing on the supporting characters who will later become the protagonists.

“I have a very specific plan for where we’re going each season. In each we will prepare the ground to promote the next protagonist. We have it planned through Season 6 and part of Season 7.”

Showrunner Jess Brownell told EW that Benedict is a fun character and fan favorite, and they’re excited to explore his love story.

“We’re very excited, in previous seasons we’ve played with him a bit, let him (Benedict’s character) have fun, explore before we fall in love and start thinking about starting a family.”

Who does Benedict fall in love with in the Bridgerton books?

If the series follows the plot of the third book in Julia Quinn’s “Bridgerton” saga, “An Offer From a Gentleman,” Benedict’s love interest will be Sophie Beckett.

Sophie and Benedict’s story has a Cinderella-esque twist: Sophie, dressed as a queen, goes to the most important ball in London and catches Benedict’s attention. But after the party, she returns to her harsh reality as a maid. The plot thickens when Sophie goes to work at Benedict’s house, who does not recognize her as the lady at the ball.

Benedict Bridgerton has been a supporting character until now, known for his artistic talent and his search for purpose beyond the expectations of his family and society.

His love story with Sophie promises to explore his character in depth and show his inner struggle between duty and desire, as well as his personal development. Until now, fans have seen him as a free-spirited man, and this season could show how he deals with romantic challenges and societal expectations.

When does ‘Bridgerton’ season 4 premiere?

Although Netflix has not announced an official release date, it is speculated that filming will begin in September 2024.

If we go by the production and release patterns of previous seasons, it is likely that the fourth season of ‘Brigerton’ will hit the streaming platform in 2026.

Jess Brownell has stated in various media interviews that each season takes about eight months to shoot, plus the additional time required for editing and dubbing into multiple languages.
