Roger regrets Inter’s elimination and understands the fans’ irritation

The coach, in his second match, failed to lead Colorado to the next stage of the Copa Sudamericana

Internacional is eliminated from the Copa Sudamericana after a draw against Rosario Central, in Beira-Rio. After the duel, coach Roger Machado, who made his debut at the stadium as Colorado coach, regretted the result and wants to change the atmosphere in the club for the next matches.

“It’s painful for everyone. For a commander who arrives, in a moment of turbulence, an elimination never does any good. Beira-Rio gave us a great atmosphere and I thank the fans who came. I tried to field the best players who were ready. It wasn’t enough. We did what we could at the time we were living. Our life is made up of victories and failures”, said Roger, before adding:

“Victory generates confidence, a positive atmosphere and optimism. Defeats generate the opposite. I’m a science guy. For me everything is connected. Today we managed to bring motivation onto the pitch thanks to the atmosphere of the crowd,” he added.

Roger said he understands Colorado’s discontent. After the end of the match, Inter fans tried to invade the Beira-Rio pitch and asked the players to stand up.

“Every burden we receive, we try to assimilate it and look forward. The frustration of the fans is understandable. Many years have passed without results. It wears us down. Only victory will change the situation,” he asked himself looking to the future.

Roger, in fact, intervened in defense of the team and assured that the players are interested. “Everyone has an interest in Inter winning. This must be clear,” he explained.

Now Inter returns to play this weekend, against Bahia, on Saturday, for the Brasileirão, at 20:00, at the Casa de Apostas Arena Fonte Nova. Roger Machado’s team, in fact, will have competition only until the end of the season.
