Vice-Versa 2 makes history! The Pixar movie is stronger than Frozen 2

Emotions are stronger than magic! With $1.462 billion at the international box office, Pixar Studios’ Vice-Versa 2 becomes the highest-grossing animated film in history. Until now, it was 2019’s Frozen 2, which held the record with $1.45 billion. So the sequel is clearly a success!

The success was announced after the trailer for Vice-Versa 2 was released in November 2023, the video had 157 million views in 24 hours. The record was previously held by the trailer of Frozen 2! Pete Docter, director of the first installment and since then Pixar’s creative director, said: “We’re thrilled that so many people have seen the new trailer. But the success also has fans of the studio spooked, as it would embolden Pixar president Jim Morris to push for more sequels. Last May, he told Bloomberg that he wanted to release three films every two years, and that every two would include one title. “Continuation or spinoff of already established intellectual property”.
