Braskem reported a 4% increase in resin sales in the Brazilian market in the second quarter from a year earlier, reaching 824,000 tonnes, the petrochemical company said in an operating preview on Thursday.

The average utilization rate of petrochemical plants fell by 1 percentage point on an annual basis, to 71%, with the cessation of operations at the Triunfo petrochemical complex, in Rio Grande do Sul, due to the climate catastrophe in the state, but partially offset by the increase in the utilization rate at the petrochemical complexes of Bahia and São Paulo.
