The mayor of Farroupilha, in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, Fabiano Feltrin (PL), proposed guillotine the Minister of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes. The speech was delivered together with former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) during a visit to the city this Thursday 25.
The scene was broadcast live on the politician’s Instagram profile. As he walks next to Bolsonaro, an interlocutor says that the only thing he didn’t show was the statue in honor of Moraes. Feltrin quickly responds that there is no such thing in the city. “I’ll show him what a tribute it is, put it here under the guillotine,” he says, moving the equipment and laughing.
Bolsonaro is not speaking at this moment, but you can see him putting his hand under the mayor’s shoulder. The video was not saved on Feltrin’s profile, but users recorded the moment of the broadcast that had an echo on the internet.

On X (formerly Twitter), the federal deputy of Paraná and president of the Workers’ Party (PT), Gleisi Hoffmann, repudiated the action, arguing that the intention of the mayor of Farroupilha was to draw attention to himself.
“The speech took place during a Bolsonaro caravan tour through the mountains of Rio Grande do Sul, in a theme park. Or was it a coup caravan? This mayor is the same one who tried to shut down the Internet during the RS disaster and was overturned by Minister Paulo Pimenta. Incredible! May justice knock on your door soon,” he wrote.

The case mentioned by Gleisi occurred in May of this year, when RS was experiencing heavy rains and flooding across the state. Feltrin called the then minister of the Secretariat for Social Communications of the Presidency (Secom), Paulo Pimenta, to ask the federal government for resources to rebuild the city and recorded the call. Pimenta responded that he was met with “hostility” by Feltrin and claimed that the gaucho tried to “seal the Internet” based on “a lie.”
