DC Comics recently announced its new Absolute Universe, a line of titles featuring different versions of classic heroes that will soon have a recurring parallel timeline. The news is still coming to light as San Diego Comic-Con begins, and it shows that, “while he’s not roaming the streets of Gotham dressed as a bat, this new twenty-something Bruce is working as an engineer for the city,” a far more blue-collar attitude than audiences have seen from the main DC Universe’s eponymous billionaire Wayne.
According to ScreenRant, Nick Dragotta’s art features concept sketches that also confirm the physical dimensions of Absolute Batman, who measures approximately 6’1″ and weighs approximately 250 pounds, meaning he has a more “tank” style than the Bruce Wayne original, which is more subtle; it looks more like Frank Miller’s version of the Dark Knight.

This Batman doesn’t have a Robin, but he does have a little dog named Bat Ear Frenchie, who, on the surface, doesn’t seem as intimidating as Bruce Wayne’s classic pet, Ace the Bat-Hound.

And while he won’t have a butler like in the original universe’s rich version, the hero will have someone like Alfred Pennyworth, called Penny, an older man who has access to weapons and vehicles.
It’s not yet clear what exactly Absolute Batman’s utility belt will contain. But your behavior will certainly have to undergo profound changes, due mainly to your position in the social class.
