A survey conducted by the city of São Paulo reveals the prevalence of people with hearing or physical disabilities present at the event; the survey found that there were nearly 5,000 autistic people.
A study by the City of São Paulo shows that around 45,000 people with disabilities participated in the 28th LGBT+ Pride Parade on June 2. The study was prepared by the technical team of the SPTuris Tourism and Events Observatory.
According to the LGBT Pride Parade Association of São Paulo (APOLGBT-SP), the event received about 3 million people. And the City Council survey indicates that 1.5% of the public present at the event declared themselves disabled.
According to the study, most of the people with disabilities were people with hearing problems or physical disabilities (27.8%). The survey also found the presence of almost 5 thousand autistic people.
People with disabilities opened the parade, between the rainbow flag and the first electric trio (there were 16 trios), and had a reserved space on Avenida Paulista, organized by the Municipal Secretariat for People with Disabilities (SMPED).
