Al-Hilal makes an offer for Vitor Roque, who is experiencing an impasse at Barcelona

The striker hopes to have more chances under Hansi Flick, but Financial Fair Play could weigh on his departure

Six months after signing, Vitor Roque is experiencing a dead end at Barcelona. After all, the club intends to sell him according to Financial Fair Play, but the youngster does not want to leave at this time, because he believes he could have more opportunities with the new coach, Hansi Flick.

Thus, according to the Saudi sports daily, Al-Hilal has made an offer for the Brazilian striker’s football Arriyadiyah. According to the newspaper, the Catalan club has approved the deal and is asking for at least 40 million euros (245 million real, at current prices), the amount paid to Atletico-PR at the beginning of the year.

Another source who revealed the interest of the Arabs was the journalist specialized in the transfer market, Fabrizio Romano. At the moment they are trying to convince the player and his staff to move to the team led by the coach Jorge Jesus, who has turned 70, and the striker Neymar.

Currently, Vitor Roque does not have a guaranteed contract at Barcelona in 2024/25. This is because he replaced Gavi, who suffered a serious injury and will probably return at the start of next season.

Financial Fair Play tightens

Barcelona is trying to adapt to La Liga’s financial fair play. As a result, the board needs more money to cover the costs of professional football.

The club has therefore seen the salary cap imposed by La Liga’s Financial Fair Play regulations fall from €648 million in 2022/23 to €270 million in 2023/24. The current payroll amounts to around €492 million (2.7 billion reals), a difference of €222 million (1.2 billion reals) compared to what is permitted.

The attempt is to sell players and make room for purchases, given that there is interest in Nico Williams and Dani Olmo, Spain’s strikers in the European Championship. Finally, Vitor Roque has played only 16 games, of which only two as a starter, and has scored two goals.
