Preview features Amanda Waller introducing the Suicide Squad replacements
Max has released the trailer for the animated series “Creature Commandos,” the first release from DC Studios. The preview features Amanda Waller (voiced by Viola Davis) introducing Task Force M (M for monsters) as a replacement for Task Force X, also known as the Suicide Squad.
Created and written by DC Studios co-chairman James Gunn, the series will follow the formation of the supernatural villain team after Congress bans the use of human prisoners in government suicide missions. The cast includes David Harbour (“Stranger Things”), Frank Grillo (“Captain America: Civil War”), Maria Bakalova (“Death, Death, Death”), Indira Varma (“Game of Thrones”), Zoe Chao (“Strangers”), Alan Tudyk (“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”) and Sean Gunn (“Guardians of the Galaxy”).
Sean Gunn will voice Doninha (Weasel) and GI Robot, Bakalova will play Princess Ilana Rostovic, Varma will play The Bride of Frankenstein, Chao will play Nina Mazursky, Tudyk will play Dr. Phosphorus, Harbour will play Eric Frankenstein, and Grillo will play Rick. Flag Sr., who will lead the group on their mission. The voice cast also includes Steve Agee, who reprises his role as John Economos from the film “The Suicide Squad” and the series “Peacemaker.”
Before confirming the cast, the producers explained that they were looking for voice actors who could play the characters in a possible live-action adaptation.
The first is scheduled for December.
