House of the Dragon: Trailer Raises Expectations for Season End

The final trailer for the second season of “House of the Dragon” already previews what should be another great battle for the Iron Throne. HBO released the preview of the last part of the season last Sunday (28), after the broadcast of the seventh episode.

After Luke’s death in the season one finale, season two saw the Black and the Green march to war forever, beginning with Blood and Cheese and the Cargyll twins’ duel.

The first major clash of the war finally came with the Battle of Rook’s Rest, which resulted in the death of Rhaenys and her dragon, Meleys.

The Blacks subsequently sought to rally the dragonriders as allies, and during the finale of season 2, episode 6, Rhaenyra sails to Syrax to face Seasmoke’s newest rider, Addam of Hull.

After several dragons gain new riders in episode 7, the trailer shows Rhaenyra, Aemond, and all the main characters preparing for battle in the next season’s finale. Watch below:

After Rhaenyra’s other advisor, Mysaria, suggests that Targaryen bastards may be the key to reclaiming the remaining riderless dragons on Dragonstone, the heir to the Iron Throne vows to build an “army of bastards.”

Already introduced during the season, Ulf White and Hugh Hammer are among those who set sail for Dragonstone. Hugh eventually manages to claim Vermithor, and Ulf claims Silverwing, and the two are also allied with the Blacks.

The trailer strongly suggests that another major event in this war, the Battle of the Gulch, could happen before the end of House of the Dragon season 2. Next Sunday (03), HBO will show another part of the confrontation between blacks and greens.
