Silvero Pereira brings back to life the serial killer who terrorized São Paulo in the late 90s
The Prime Video platform has released the teaser for “Maniac do Parque”, a new true crime film in which Silvero Pereira (“Pantanal”) plays Francisco de Assis Pereira, the serial killer who earned the nickname Maniaco do Parque in the late 1990s.
The cast also includes Giovanna Grigio (“Ribelle”) as Elena, a rookie journalist who sees crime investigation as a great opportunity to advance her career. She takes on the case and reveals the stories of the murders while Francisco continues to attack the women and hide their bodies in Parque do Estado, in São Paulo. With his fame growing in the media, the serial killer creates a wave of terror in the capital São Paulo.
The production also features Bruno Garcia (“Sob Pressão”), who plays Zico, a flirtatious and unscrupulous journalist, and Mel Lisboa (“Coisa Mais Linda”) as Martha, a psychiatrist and sister of the protagonist, who has the important role of helping him. she understands how the mind of a psychopath works.

Along with the drama version, Amazon will also release a documentary about the crimes, “The Park Maniac: The Untold Story,” which will feature previously unseen testimonies from four women who survived the Park Maniac attacks, directed by Thaís Nunes (“Elize Matsunaga: Once Upon a Crime”) and Maurício Eça.
Who is the Park Maniac?
Francisco de Assis Pereira was arrested in 1998, accused of killing seven women in Parque do Estado, São Paulo. He worked as a motorcycle courier, pretended to be a “talent hunter” and invited victims to take pictures when he committed crimes. Francisco was sentenced to 268 years in prison and, in prison, began receiving fan mail, even marrying one admirer, but separated shortly afterward, after his ex-girlfriend reported strange behavior and personality.
Francisco will be released in 2028, after serving the maximum 30 years of imprisonment provided by Brazilian law. On the other hand, psychiatrists indicate that he will commit crimes again, due to his irreversible mental state.
