On Thursday (8), Rede Globo released the names of all 14 participants in the Star of the Househis new reality show that will debut on August 13. With daily coverage on Rede Globo and 24-hour broadcast on Globoplay, the competition is an original and unprecedented product of the broadcaster, which mixes music and segregation, as well as popular vote.

The list of contestants was released during breaks in the program, in a format similar to the one the company produces annually with the Big Brother Brazil. In addition to a short presentation video, Globo also released a clip of each of the participants expressing their voice, further showcasing their talent.

14. MC Mayarah

MC Mayarah, 29, originally from Rio, has worked since she was little to help her family, having already worked as a coconut candy seller and street vendor. Passionate about music since she was a child, when she joined an evangelical choir, she has never studied music theory, but she is passionate about composing songs that talk about her humble origins and have lyrics of female emancipation.

13. Rodrigo Garcia

Rodrigo Garcia, 24, from Manauara, has been living off music for more than two years, but he has also been a painter, waiter and bricklayer’s assistant. Despite his eclectic taste and the inspiration of his uncle, who “played” at being a DJ at family parties, he ended up falling in love with forró and piseiro, a rhythm that he will defend in the dispute. Self-taught, the artist knows how to play the guitar and ukulele, as well as experimenting with the keyboard and guitar.

12. Heloísa Araújo

Born in Alagoas, Heloísa Araújo is a 23-year-old singer and songwriter, resident in an indigenous reservation located on the banks of the São Francisco River. A craftswoman, she still can’t make a living from music, an art she fell in love with when she was still little, influenced by her grandfather. A declared fan of Marília Mendonça, the young woman loves to compose her own songs in which she talks about the struggle and daily life of her people.

Resident in São Paulo, born in Cachoeiras de Macacu, Rio de Janeiro, Gael Vicci is a young singer and composer of 18 years. Victim of bullying and prejudice as a teenager, he managed to change the situation and today he dreams of being a complete artist.

Owner of striking blue hair, she already had a fling with rapper Orochi.

7. Nick Cruz

A 26-year-old bricklayer born in Laranjeiras, Rio de Janeiro, Nick Cruz discovered his passion for music as a child, influenced by his mother who took him to karaoke and encouraged him to sing at home. Although he had to work from an early age to help support his family, he decided to pursue his artistic career in parallel, performing in bars as a teenager and, at 19, managing to publish his first music video.

A 31-year-old singer and composer from Rio de Janeiro, Califfa began his musical career as a child, after receiving a cavaquinho as a gift from his father. Currently, in addition to the instrument, he plays guitar, banjo, mandolin, percussion, guitar and drums and has become known in the samba scene for his compositions. Although he has already written lyrics for big names such as Ferrugem, Anitta, Seu Jorge and Ludmilla, he wants to leave the backstage and be center stage.
