In 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic led to Silvio being removed from the recording of his show. In December of that year, he celebrated his 90th birthday at home with his family. In July 2021, he resumed recording the Silvio Santos show, but was again away from the studios after being hospitalized for Covid-19. His last show was recorded in September 2022 and aired on February 26, 2023.
