A post-apocalyptic thriller

Nicolas Cage in a post-apocalyptic thriller, isn’t that what we needed in the heart of summer? After Longlegs, Renfield, his cameo in The Flash or even Pig, the actor is always where you least expect him. And it’s certainly Arcadian again, a post-apocalyptic horror film with big, scary beasts.

In addition to Nicolas Cage – known for his eclectic and often eccentric roles – Arcadian stars Jaden Martel (revealed by E), who plays one of the sons of Paul and Max Jenkins.

The story takes place in a dystopian future where the world as we know it has been destroyed by a catastrophe. Paul (Nicolas Cage), a devoted father, must guide his two teenage sons, Thomas (Jaiden Martel) and Joseph (Max Jenkins), through the dangerous desert landscape. Their goal is to find a safe haven called Arcadian while avoiding violent gangs and mutated creatures.

The movie hinted at

Produced on a modest budget, Arcadian does not hide its ambitions. The film draws inspiration from iconic works such as Mad Max and The Road, combining survival and family drama.

Arcadian is part of the tradition of post-apocalyptic films, but focuses its narrative on human relationships and the struggle for survival. It also notes its influence from mythological stories where journeys and quests play an important role.

During its theatrical release in the United States, Arcadian did not break the bank at the box office, falling short of a million dollars. But its exclusive premiere on Canal+ is an opportunity to see another film from Nicolas Cage’s indescribable filmography.

Arcadian airs on Canal+ at 21:10 and is available on MyCanal.
