The Gauchos will face a real thermal swing next week. Check out the full forecast
Unstable weather will mark the week in Rio Grande do Sul, with a combination of heat, rain and a sudden drop in temperature. The summer that has prevailed in recent days will give way to a period of instability, with heavy rains and the arrival of a cold front that will bring cold temperatures to the state.
Until Thursday (22), the heat will still be present in some regions, with maximum temperatures reaching 30°C. However, the rain is intensifying, especially in the southern half of the state, and will be recorded from this Monday (19), with particular attention to Campanha and the southern coast, where large amounts of rain are expected.
The formation of an extratropical cyclone and the advance of cold fronts will cause a sudden change in the weather over the weekend. From Wednesday (21) the instability will intensify, with the possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds in several regions of the State. Temperatures will drop significantly with the arrival of a polar air mass.
Porto Alegre is expected to experience temperatures between 16°C and 26°C, with little precipitation. Cities such as Uruguaiana and Santa Maria are expected to receive a higher volume of precipitation. The northern part of the region, such as Passo Fundo, is expected to remain drier.
