There are actors who are a bit more honest than others in interviews and there are those who just say whatever they think without holding back! This is the case of Michael Keaton, known for his roles as Tim Burton (Beetlejuice, Batman), who spoke about the cancellation of the Batgirl movie, in which he reprized the role of Bruce Wayne.
to the microphone GQHere’s his commentary on this Adil El Arbi and Bilal Fallah film (Bad Boys 3 and 4) that was canceled by the studio overnight despite being completed:
I didn’t care what happened. Big, fun, beautiful check.
Comments that can be considered cynical, but, nevertheless, Keaton breaks the taboo among actors: sometimes taking a film not for artistic interest, but for financial interest. A very common practice, but generally little recognized.

Jack Palance in particular is credited with a similar response when asked why he had so many competitive failures throughout his career: “I needed a new wing on my ranch.” Closer to us, in the Marvel Universe, Paul Bettany has never hidden that his casting as the super-computer Jarvis, then as Ultron and finally as the Vision. Your bank account is enriched.
However, we don’t know how Keaton’s announcements will be received by the Batgirl team, be it the directing duo, the rest of the cast, or the camera crew. Keaton still had nice words for the directors:
I like these guys, they are good, I support them. I want them to succeed and I think they felt really bad and that made me feel bad. but me I am very well.
Recall that Michael Keaton played Batman twice for Tim Burton in 1989 and 1992, and that he recently reprized his role in The Flash, Barry Allen’s solo adventure starring Ezra Miller. Batgirl was to be his fourth appearance in the DC Universe as Bruce Wayne.
Note that he’s also appeared in Marvel, DC’s rival, as Adrian Toomes, as well as the supervillain Vulture in both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Morbius.
He recently completed his second feature film, Knox Goes Away, in which he plays a professional killer suffering from Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. The film is currently available on Prime Video.
