Jodi Picoult’s new book is inspired by what she experienced during the adaptation of ‘A Proof of Love’ for the cinema
Jodi Picoult revealed the inspiration behind his new book, By Any Other Namereleased this Tuesday, 20th. In an interview with People (via Variety), she revealed that the ideas for the novel came from the “horrible experience” she had during the film adaptation A Proof of Love (2009).
“It kind of goes back to when I had a really terrible experience transforming A Proof of Love into a movie. It took me a long time to understand that they didn’t ruin my book. My book is still there. And anyone who reads my book is still getting the story I wanted to tell,” he said. Picoult.
The film directed by Nick Cassavetes stars Abigail Breslin, Cameron Diaz and Alec Baldwin. Anna Fitzgerald, played by Breslinsues her own parents to guarantee emancipation, after being chosen to donate her kidney to her sister, who is dying of leukemia.

The new book of Picoult tells the story of two authors: Emilia Bassano, based on a woman who historians believe was the writer behind works associated with Shakespeareand Melina Green, a playwright who gains notoriety after her play enters a festival under her friend Blake’s name.
