Some thought so Halle Berry to return as Storm in ‘Deadpool 3’but instead the actress released her own action movie on Netflix.
This is “The Syndicate”, whose plot centers on the recruitment of a construction worker, Mike (Mark Wahlberg), into a secret department that transforms ordinary people into deadly spies.
But the plot also involves a romance, since the one who recruits Mike is Roxanne (Halle Berry), who was his high school girlfriend. Hence, many viewers were hoping to see a kiss between the two on screen.
Why aren’t Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry kissing in ‘The Syndicate’?
Throughout ‘The Union’ the tension between Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry’s characters, Mike and Roxanne, builds.
Not only because the adrenaline rush of their missions leads them into unexpected scenarios, but also because of the love story they share.
But obviously none of that is enough to see a simple kiss between the two, although if they had, they might have classified the most romantic kisses in cinema.
The film’s director, Julian Farino, broke his silence on the matter and confessed that the reasons behind this decision are deeper than meets the eye:
That is, Mike and Roxanne are not kissing in ‘The Syndicate’ because they left that special moment for future films in the franchise, which are expected to be released on Netflix in the coming years.
The friendship of Halle Berry and Mark Wahlberg behind “The Syndicate”
However, there are those who speculate that the actors probably didn’t kiss on screen because they share a friendship of many years. Although the real reason is what the director of ‘El Sindicato’ confessed, these theories are not far from the truth.
And that’s it Halle Berry (who experienced the Oscar curse) and Mark Wahlberg have been friends for many years. In fact, it was this beautiful friendship that allowed the chemistry to flow so well between their characters in the Netflix movie:
