Lionsgate has removed the trailer for Megalopolisa new film by Francis Ford Coppola, which contained false quotes attributed to famous film critics. Experts suspect that ChatGPT was used to select the excerpts. And artificial intelligence invented them.

The video, released on Wednesday (21), contained excerpts of alleged negative comments on the director’s other films, such as The Godfather AND Apocalypse now. The studio, one of Hollywood’s biggest, acknowledged the mistake and apologized for it. But it did not explain what happened.

“We offer our sincere apologies to the critics involved and to Francis Ford Coppola and American Zoetrope for this inexcusable error in our ratings process. We made a mistake. We are very sorry,” a Lionsgate spokesperson said. in a statement to Variety.
