Thursday (22) was a day full of beach volleyball matches, valid for the Elite 16 in Hamburg, Germany. Although the competition started on Tuesday (20), today was the debut of the Brazilian pair, and unfortunately the result was not positive, with three victories and four defeats.
WINNERS CLUB
Starting from the couples that emerged victorious from the duels, Ágatha and Rebecca defeated the Germans Ludwig and Lippmann 2-0, with scores of 21/19 and 22/20. But don’t think that the Brazilians were only positive; they also suffered a defeat, which we will talk about later.
Closing their winning streak, Arthur and Adrielson defeated Spaniards Herrera and Gavira, with scores of 21/19 and 21/15, resulting in another 2-0. Continuing, this time the only pair that today only knew the taste of victory. Thamela and Victoria defeated Italians Gottardi and Menegatti 2-1, with partial scores of 21/19, 16/21 and 21/19.
BITTER DEFEATS
Now it’s time to talk about the couples who were negative today. Starting with Ágatha and Rebecca, who also won, but fell against the Lithuanians Paulikiene and Raupelyte 2-0, with scores of 19/21 and 18/21. In the last match of the Brazilians at the Elite 16 in Hamburg, Arthur and Adrielson lost against the Norwegians Mol and Sorum 2-0 (21/11 and 21/19).
The pair composed of Evandro and Arthur were also defeated, this time by the Austrians Hammarberg and Berger, with partial scores of 17/21 and 18/21. Finally, the only defeat by 2-1 was that of the pair Hegê/Vitória, who lost against the Americans Scoles and Flint (25/23, 13/21 and 13/15).
