One of the most anticipated films of 2024, which for many years was an urban legend Hollywood, Megalopolis has a release date in Brazilian cinemas. The production directed by Francis Ford Coppola arrives in the country with distribution of O2 Play.

In a press release, Igor Kupstas, director of the company, revealed that the film will arrive on October 31st in Brazil. In 77th Cannes Film Festival, Megalopolis competed for Palme d’Or. See more information below:

What is the story of Megalopolis?

Written and directed by Coppola, Megalopolis took forty years to finally reach movie theaters. The idea for the film – which tells the story of an architect, played by Adam Driver (Star Wars), with the desire to rebuild New York City in a utopian way after a disaster – emerged in the 1980s. The city of New Rome is the scene of an epic conflict between Caesar Catilinea brilliant artist in favor of a utopian and idealistic future, and his opponent, the greedy mayor Franklyn Cicero. Between the two is Julia Cicerowith loyalty divided between his father and his beloved, trying to decide what future humanity deserves.

When does it premiere? Megalopolis?

Distributed by Lionsgate, Megalopolis is scheduled to premiere in North American theaters on the next 27th of September. However, the new product still has no confirmed date to arrive in Brazilian movie theaters.
