Alexey Lukin, Maria Mironova, Artem Tkachenko, Pavel Tabakov – these and other actors have recently been united by a new project, the series “Late Night School”. The press service of the Okko online cinema told about the beginning of the filming process, the project will be created with the support of the Internet Development Institute.
The eight-episode drama series, directed by Nika Yakovleva, will tell the story of teenagers who decide to openly declare what they really care about, and choose to do so in a radical way.
The new controversial talk show Late Night School, created by a group of high school students, regularly appears on the network. The project exists illegally and is filmed in the school gym. In each issue, teenagers discuss only the most pressing issues: relationships with teachers and parents, bullying, sex, gender stereotypes, and much more. The number of views is growing, the topics are becoming sharper, and gradually the creators are getting hooked on the hype, which means that they are increasingly crossing the boundaries of reason. Along with popularity, problems are growing – now, instead of remarks in the diary, they face real expulsion and even a criminal case. Children’s games are over, and it’s time to make a conscious, adult choice between conscience and cheap hype.
But in spite of everything, the heroes of Late Night School learn sincerity, devotion and friendship. Faced with serious problems, they realize that popularity in social networks and the number of likes is not the most important thing in life.
Nika Yakovleva, director of the series, said that the first day of filming coincided with bad weather in the capital, but they still managed to shoot a few scenes:
The first shift was a hurricane in every sense: we were not only covered by rain and wind, but also by a wave of incredible emotions. Huge thanks to everyone who was there. I can’t compare the feeling to anything on set. We still have a bright two-month filming trip ahead of us.
It is known that the shooting will be completed by autumn. The exact date of the premiere is not known, but according to one of the producers of the project Anna Alexandrova in an interview with HELLO.RU, the series will be released November-December of this year.
