“Inside Out 2” is the first animated film to reach $1 billion at the international box office

Reverse 2 continues to set records. The film has surpassed Frozen 2 and has now become the first animation in history to reach the impressive threshold of $1 billion (approximately R$5.5 billion) at the international box office.

In history, only 11 other films have reached this milestone. The calculation of the international box office takes into account the profits of films outside the United States.

Considering the North American market as well, the number of productions that have managed to achieve this feat amounts to approximately 55 films. However, Reverse 2 is the only animation within this selected group. This is because The Lion Kingof 2019, was classified by Disney as live-action, despite using computer graphics to create its characters.

Among foreign markets, Brazil has the second highest grossing, with $80 million, behind only Mexico, where the film grossed $102.2 million.

Reverse 2 is still the most profitable film of the year, with nearly $1.65 billion in total box office receipts. The information comes from Variety.
