Will NCIS ever cross Los Angeles and Hawaii? What the producers think and why it was difficult in the past

Although it has been around for nearly two decades at this point, CBS NCIS The franchise is still going strong and showing no signs of slowing down. There are a lot of things fans love about the process, but a good crossover, like the one in between Hawaii and the main show is usually at the top of this list. With that, one has to wonder if there will ever be a three-way crossover involving full length. THE divided. Well, the producers have been candid about this possibility and why it has been so difficult in the past.

While such crosses have been made before (we see them, a chicago franchises), are somewhat difficult to organize, as they require the collaboration of several writers, actors and producers. On a positive note, NCIS: Los Angeles executive producer R. Scott Gemmill said TV insider that there is interest in making a crossover with the three shows. Although achieving it is another story:

we have talked [a crossover] a lot, and in fact, the study [recently] he asked me the question. It’s just a question of logistics. If we were to do it, we would like to do it in all three series. Crossover with a show is like leaving someone out … I’ve already talked to the other showrunners, they’re all in. It’s just that the convenience of doing this is a little tricky.

It’s hard not to think of a combination of three, especially considering how good the new is. on CBS ‘ NCIS Yes Hawaii crossover that aired earlier this year, Wilmer Valderrama’s Nick Torres and Katrina Law’s Jessica Knight traveled to Aloha State to work with Vanessa Lachey’s Jane Tennant and her team. Fans seemed enthusiastic, but soon after they started talking about another crossover THE Yes NCIS stars united for a funny post.

While these small-screen events can be fun, they also have a huge behind-the-scenes drawback. It’s the fact that the shows lose characters in some installments of the mash-up. NCIS executive producer Steven D. Binder talked about it in the same interview:

You lose actors not only due to a crossover. We lose them because of the shows we do on both sides of the crossover.

Despite the challenges, Binder looks confident that a three-show crossover will be possible at some point, though likely not during CBS’s Fall 2022 schedule. It should also be considered that since NCIS: Hawaii film about the beautiful island, it is probably a little more difficult to involve this show in a larger crossover from a logistical point of view.

Coincidentally, the NCIS The franchise isn’t alone in discussing the possibility of a three-show crossover for next season. Just last week, it was reported that NBC was planning to make a major scoop by creating one for the three. Right shows as a way to kick off their respective seasons.

The odds don’t look very good at the moment, but hopefully there will be a crossover between the three. NCIS series. Of course, I wouldn’t turn down another event with two shows either. But in the meantime, get to know that season 20 of the OG show and season 2 of Hawaii debuts on Monday, September 19 from 9:00 PM EST, while THE’Season 14 airs Sunday, October 9 at 10pm EST on CBS as part of the 2022 TV schedule. And if you want to review past seasons, stream them with a Paramount + subscription.
