In 2021, Kim Min-chae (Choi Myung-bin) and his mother Na Hye-do (Kim So-hyun) are not reunited. A young girl wants to give up ballet and “runs away” to her grandmother’s house, where she comes across her mother’s diary, in which her mother’s story is told through the ages.

In 1998, Na Hee-do (Kim Tae-ri) and Baek Yi-jin (Nam Jo-hyuk) stole the roles. The first was as a member of his high school’s fencing team, which disbanded due to South Korea’s financial crisis. After overcoming many difficulties, he finally becomes a member of the national fencing team.

Meanwhile, Baek Yi-jin’s family has gone from “rich to rags” and separated due to a financial crisis. After that, the young man was forced to take several part-time jobs, one of which was a newspaper delivery boy. Later, he became a sports journalist for a TV channel. At the age of 22 and 18, they met for the first time. They fell in love at the age of 25 and 21.

Twenty Five Twenty One, which shows the love lives of its characters from 1998 to 2021, takes place in several timelines. Brilliant in originality, charming and touching as ever, the series was a commercial success and became one of the highest-rated dramas in Korean cable television history.

Kim Tae-ri also won Best Actress at the Baek Sang Art Awards for her role as Na Hye-do.

Add to that humor and a “retro-sentimental” vibe, making it a “nostalgic dive into the memories of youth and the value of dreams,” according to NME. The publication, along with Time, Forbes, and Teen Vogue, ranked first in the list of the best Korean dramas of 2022.
