Two new characters that drew attention in “Thor: Love and Thunder” – to the point of even getting the official production poster – were a pair of giant goats, which the hero receives as a gift. What most marked their participation in the film was not so much their vitamin dimension, but the fact that they are very noisy. And this feature is due to a Taylor Swift meme.
The revelation was given by director Taika Waititi in an interview with Insider.
“They shouldn’t have been screaming. The goats would have been in the plot, because they’re in the comics, but we didn’t know what they would sound like. Someone in post-production found this meme of a Taylor Swift song that has goats screaming. I didn’t even know that. it existed.. When I heard the goats, I thought it was great. A lot of people think it’s me screaming, but it’s not. “
Waititi refers to a viral version of the song “I Knew Your Were Trouble”, in which Swift’s screams were replaced by those of a goat.
