The Ghosts Still Have Fun: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024), a sequel to the 1988 classic, is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The name behind both feature films, Tim Burtonwas in the Venice Film Festival and explained his motivations for returning to the ghostly universe.
According to Variety, Burton “I wasn’t looking to make a big sequel for the money or anything like that, I wanted to do it for very personal reasons.” The director also said that he did not revisit the original film to work on the sequel. “I remembered the spirit of it and I remembered everyone here.”
Burton don’t think you’ll be back for a third film Beetlejuice. “Let’s do the math,” the filmmaker told Deadline. “It took me 35 years to do this. On the other hand, I would have more than 100. It could be possible thanks to medical science. But I don’t think so.”
