On Thursday night (29), the Sorocabana League broke a streak of seven consecutive games without a win in the Paulista Basketball Championship. It defeated Basket Osasco with a score of 68 to 62, in a game played at the Geodesico gymnasium, in Osasco.
In a match between two teams at the bottom of the standings, Liga Sorocabana was looking for its first win in the current edition. Therefore, it traveled to the western region of Greater São Paulo to face Basket Osasco. Interestingly, this is a duel between the only two Paulista teams that do not compete in the NBB.
In the first quarter, Liga Sorocabana imposed a strong rhythm, opening eleven points and winning 24 to 13. However, they saw the home team take a point in the second half and react with a comeback in the third quarter. Therefore, the away team had to run hard to earn seven points in the decisive quarter and get their first win in the competition.

Rafael Mencarini was the star of the Sorocabana League, scoring 24 points and grabbing five rebounds. The top scorer for Basket Osasco was Arthur Pecos, with 15 points scored.
The victory does not, however, drop Liga Sorocabana from tenth place, last in the standings. But it serves to regain the spirit in view of the ninth appointment, the last of the first round. The team thus has the possibility of accumulating two consecutive victories, facing Mogi (9th place) in Itu, on Saturday (31). While Basket Osasco (8th) will visit Pinheiros (1st) on Sunday, in the Villaboim gym.
