The president criticized the billionaire for not complying with the STF’s orders
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva declared this Friday (30) that the billionaire Elon Musk, owner of the social network and every citizen is subordinate to the Constitution and Brazilian laws.
“Either you comply or you will have to take another action,” the president told MaisPB radio in Paraíba.
According to Lula, if the Supreme Court makes the decision, Musk will have to accept the rules of the country, because “just because a guy has a lot of money doesn’t mean he can disrespect him.”
“This citizen is an American citizen, not a citizen of the world.
He cannot offend the presidents, the deputies, the Senate, the Chamber and the Supreme Court. What do you think it is?” Lula asked, stressing that the billionaire must respect the STF’s decision. “If you want, if you don’t want, be patient.”
For him, if this were not the case, Brazil would never be sovereign. “In this country there is no society with a bastard complex. This man must accept the rules of this country,” he concluded.
Last Wednesday evening (28), Moraes gave Musk a 24-hour deadline to appoint a new legal representative for the social network in Brazil and threatened to suspend the platform in the country if the order was not respected.
The subpoena was sent to the court order to block accounts suspected of undermining democracy.
In turn, the social network X declared on Thursday night (29), after the deadline set by the STF, that it would not comply with Moraes’ orders and said it expected a blockade in Brazil.
