Will The Unknowns return to theaters? Their last film appearance together was 10 years ago, in the 2014 sequel Three Brothers. In total, the original comedy and its sequel drew 9 million viewers (6.8 for Three Brothers and a 2.3 return)!
If you haven’t seen the rest, it will be telecast tonight on TMC. Opportunity for meeting session and review movie news of unknown people. The good news is that the project is indeed planned and still relevant. It’s quite a surprising project, because it’s not a new sequel to Three Brothers, but a project written by Riyad Sattouf!
After Les Beaux gosses (2009) and Jacky in the Kingdom of Girls (2014), the comic writer, screenwriter and director will finally return behind the camera for his third feature film, Les Inconnus.
The title of the film is not known, nor is there an exact synopsis, but some hints have begun to emerge.
Dystopia in France
In an interview on the set of Clique last April, Bernard Campagne explained that it would be “dystopia“which will take place in France.”Climate change has happened and it’s cold everywhere.“On Riyad Sattuf’s writing, he continues:”It is a very poetic, funny and funny look at the French society of the future.“.
The film has not yet been shot, but is expected to be shot next winter. “We should be able to shoot in January-February because he found an idea that takes place in winter“.
“I want to make this movie.”

Recently, Didier Bourdon also gave us some hints: “It takes place in the not too distant future, there are old people, young people who are gerontophobic, well, it’s funny“, on RTL in December 2023. He pointed out: “It’s not really Les Inconnus, it’s Les Inconnus in the world of Riyadh“.
Who doesn’t love the unknown? To me, the world is populated by characters from strangers!
Out of prejudice, Riyad Sattouf doesn’t say more, but confirms that it’s definitely relevant: “It is true that we have this project. For me it’s my idols, Les Inconnus. Being a bit superstitious, I never talk too much about it until it’s over. Who doesn’t love the unknown? To me, the world is populated by characters from strangers!“
So Riyad Sattouf will be reuniting with Didier Bourdon, with whom he already collaborated in Jackie in Girls’ Kingdom.
“It’s going to be kind of crazy. We’re going to play multiple characters. It’s a pretty good idea. Riyad likes that we can play completely different characters — even if that means people don’t recognize us sometimes during the movie.”Didier Bourdon also trusted BFM TV with the microphone.
“It could be very beautiful. It’s kind of a connection between our two worlds. But first it’s going to be a Riyad Sattouf movie, with Inconus, we’ll say. It’s not an Inconus movie. It’s going to be a little more fantastical.”he concluded.
What about a new sequel to Three Brothers?
Is Les Inconus thinking of bringing the Latour brothers to life for the third time in the cinema? Interviewed by BFM TV to promote The Perfect Man in June 2022, Didier Bourdon brought up the subject.
“There is an idea of a third part of “Three Brothers”, it will be “Three Grandfathers”. “The director of the film may be Xavier Daringer,” says the actor.
However, the latter clarifies that this is so “From a similar idea in the air”And that the unknowns, the directors of the first two opuses of the three brothers, would not make this 3rd feature film, “Really freed from these restrictions”.
“The third film would be a more adventurous part, we would leave France, I think Bernard Campagne and Pascal Legitimus are ready for that.”he concluded.
As a reminder, in November 2023, Didier Bourdon, Bernard Campan and Pascal Legitimus gathered on TF1 for a special show around their most memorable sketches.
