The local athlete, resident in Juiz de Fora (MG) for several years, Gustavo Kirchmaier and his teammate from Brasilia João Vieira, battled late Saturday night and secured a place in the semifinals of the BT 100 deJuizdeFora, a beach tennis competition played on the courts of Orla Beach Sports, with a prize pool of US $ 10,000 (R $ 55,000). The event in Minas Gerais ends this Sunday, September 1, and distributes more than 100 points in the world ranking of the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
Kirchmaier and Vieira defeated the pair João Souza and Fernando Souza 6/7 (7/5) 7/5 10/6 in the quarterfinals.
