Richard has successfully built a career away from the spotlight and has made sure his three children stay away from the cameras as well. Homer James Jigme made Richard a father for the first time when he was born on February 6, 2000 to former Bond Girl Carey Lowell, Richard’s second wife.
His name honors both of his parents; Richard’s father was named Homer and Carey’s father had the middle name James. His middle name means fearless in Tibetan and is a reference to Richard’s Buddhist background. “Homer is the joy of my life,” she said when the boy was two, adding that he was “very smart” and “very funny.”
Carey filed for divorce from Richard in 2012 after 11 years of marriage, but Richard wanted to remain close to his son, making professional decisions that would ensure he wasn’t away from Homer for too long.
