Guarulhos Airport Has New Navigation System Failure

The problem caused delays in take-offs this Tuesday, 3. According to the concessionaire, the systems are working normally

The concessionaire responsible for Guarulhos International Airport, GRU Airport, reported that some airlines experienced occasional delays in takeoffs this Tuesday 3, due to the intermittency of the navigation system (GNSS), specific to aircraft. According to the concessionaire, the airport and air navigation facilities are already functioning normally.

Gol Linhas Aéreas said it recorded “specific impacts” during its operations at the airport this Tuesday morning, due to interference in the GPS system signal.

According to the company, all affected customers have received the benefits and the situation is being handled together with the airport administration. Gol also claims that other airlines have been affected.

Latam said its operations at the Guarulhos terminal have returned to normal. “Some takeoffs were delayed this Tuesday morning (9/3) due to technical problems at the airport, a fact completely beyond Latam’s control,” it explained in a statement.

The company also said it had taken “all technical and operational safety measures to ensure safe travel for all.”

When contacted, Azul did not respond.

A failure in this system caused delays and cancellations of flights on the morning of Thursday 29th.
