See 12 road routes and how much less it costs if the trip is done by electric car; comparative study by Descarbonizar Soluções
Electricity is cheaper than gasoline, diesel, and ethanol. To understand how much you can save by traveling with electric cars on some of Brazil’s main routes, Descarbonize Soluções, an energy solutions specialist, compared the difference between the amounts spent on trips made with electric cars and combustion cars.
In general, savings in using electric cars can reach 72% compared to vehicles that use gasoline. If the trip is well planned and the user has charging points at the beginning, middle and end of the destination (depending on the car’s range), the money savings are significant.
Not to mention that electric cars do not emit polluting gases into the environment while they are driving. Other advantages include high energy efficiency, lower maintenance costs and lower tax rates. With this in mind, Descarbonize Soluções has developed a calculator that calculates the energy values spent, in reals, by electric car models over the most varied distances.

To collect the data for the study, Descarbonizar Soluções considered the best-selling electric car models in Brazil in the first half of the year: BYD Dolphin, BYD Dolphin Mini and GWM Ora 03.
In making the calculations, a range of 280 km was considered for charging electric cars. The values also take into account that the vehicle leaves the place of origin with a fully charged battery. For charging carried out at points along the route, an average value of R$ 2.15 per kWh was considered.
For gasoline cars, the average value of R$5.60 per liter was considered. It was also taken into account that, per liter, each combustion car normally travels 12 km.
