who is he with
Almost everyone goes back to work Monk, return. Tony Shahaub, of course, returns to his legendary role, while Jason Gray-Stanford and Traylor Howard step into the shoes of Randy Disher and Natalie Tiger once again.
To our delight, Ted Levine, who played Leland Stottlemeyer, is also there.
In turn, Caitlin McGee takes over the role of Molly, previously played by Alona Talley. New cast members include Austin Scott (Griffin), James Purefoy (Rick Eden) and Emma Ishta (Gail Eden).
Not the only one: Beatty Schram, who played Sharona for three years. We just see it at the beginning of the TV movie through images from the series pilot.
is it worth watching
If you’ve always been a fan of Monk, it’s impossible to be disappointed with the TV movie Homecoming, as we find our favorite characters in an investigation that touches our hero to the depths of his being.
Molly, his late husband’s daughter, is about to get married. Everyone gathers to attend the ceremony when the worst happens: her fiance kills himself. Convinced that it wasn’t an accident, the young woman asks Monk to help her prove that someone is responsible for her death.
But Adrian is a shadow of his former self after the pandemic. Not only has the OCD gotten worse, but he is also depressed and even thinking about ending it. A sensitive topic, to say the least, is handled accurately and it will undoubtedly touch those who have been there.
Also, as usual, the investigation is very well put together and Adrian is as emotional as ever. Beyond his social difficulties, he is deeply unhappy and ultimately only manages to find meaning in his life with the help of others.
So we appreciate seeing him again and say goodbye to this life-tested but such a beloved character. Moreover, and without saying too much, the ending scene is brilliant and offers perhaps the most beautiful symbolism to early viewers.
In short, it’s a successful result for this TV movie, which brilliantly combines nostalgia, a breath of fresh air and big moments of emotion. It’s enough to satisfy those who have been eagerly waiting for its release.
