Robert Pattinson gave details of the training he received to properly portray a vampire
Robert Pattinson shared the difficulties he had during the preparation to interpret Edward Cullen in the saga Twilight. In an interview with colliderthe actor gave details of the vampirism classes he and his colleagues received, especially for the third film in the saga, Eclipse (2010).
Of course, playing an immortal being wasn’t always the easiest role, and because of that, actors were taught to act like vampires. Ie, Pattinson and the rest of the cast had to learn to play baseball, adapt with colored glasses and talk like a vampire.
Naturally, adopting the movement and gestures of a predator was a major emphasis of these classes, and for Pattinsonthe most basic skills were the most difficult.
I had to learn to run properly. So I spent a lot of time on a giant treadmill, like one of those wheels rats run on, and I was filmed doing it to improve my form.
Happily, Pattinson it was much better running than baseball. As someone who has never played the sport before, Pattinson was tasked with training for it as well.
the fans of Twilight (2008) will likely remember the famous vampire baseball scene from the first film. However, unlike running, the actor was not interested in taking his baseball training seriously.
Pattinson says that the director of Eclipse (2010), Catherine Hardwicke, required a lot of focus from the actors to really look like professional gamers. But, the actor’s focus was on improving his acting as a vampire, not on learning baseball.
Clearly, Pattinson experienced a variety of athletic training while starring in the movies Twilight. However, the movies likely helped him prepare for other action-packed roles he would choose to take on in the future.
