After a 10-year wait, the Minecraft movie, adapted from the video game of the same name that has sold more than 300 million copies worldwide, has finally been revealed with its first trailer.
Released in 2011, the video game developed by Swedish Markus Persson aka Notch quickly became a global phenomenon with over 140 million monthly players. The project has been delayed several times since 2014, but Warner Bros. had to speed things up before losing the operating rights.
The trailer for the Jared Hess-directed featurette is reminiscent of Jumange: Welcome to the Jungle with Dwayne Johnson and Jack Black, who also appears in the cast of Minecraft, in which he plays Steve.
The adaptation of the hit game also stars Jason Momoa, dressed in bow ties for the occasion, Daniel Brooks, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, Emma Myers, Jennifer Coolidge, Kate McKinnon and Jemaine Clement.
