This is the title and pitch of the year. Nightbitch by Marielle Heller offers Oscar-nominated Amy Adams a very crazy role as a housewife who ends up turning into… a dog. This is an adaptation of the book Nocturnal female dog Written by Rachel Yoder and published by Éditions Flammarion in 2021.
Although the film will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Studio Searchlight Pictures has released a trailer. At first glance, the tone is surprising. Expecting a fantasy thriller, Nightbitch seems to lean more towards comedy and Amy Adams’ interpretation promises surprises.

“Sometimes people ask me what the movie is about and I tell them it’s Motherhood and Rage. Either you understand or you don’t“, warned the director. Nightbitch may offer a new nomination for its leading actress.
The film will be released in the US on December 6. A French date has not yet been announced.
