The Penta Captain believes that the Copa América has served as an observatory for athletes who have not yet integrated into the national team
In the process of reformulating, the Brazilian team will have two commitments in the next few days for the World Cup qualifiers. In an interview with “Bolavip”, the captain of Penta, Cafu, spoke about the current situation of the team, the possibility that Neymar can compete in the next World Cup, Endrick and Dorival Júnior, to whom he attributes good expectations for the continuation of the work.
“I see the future of the Seleção with Dorival with great eyes. He is experienced, a winner and is looking for his place in the Seleção. So I am sure that with him we will be successful again. We wanted Brazil to have reached the final of the Copa América, it was not the desired result, but at least it helped the coach to observe some players he had doubts about. So it was a very good observation”, he emphasizes.
Endrick and Neymar in the National Team
Cafu answered whether he considers Endrick ready to play for the national team and believes that he will first have to prove himself against the great players of Real Madrid.
“He will be the only one responsible for the victory. He has the ability, personality and competence. We always hope to have a place soon. It is up to Endrick to succeed in imposing himself in front of these big names of Real Madrid and, consequently, he will have opportunities with the Brazil shirt”, he declared.
As for Neymar, the former right-back believes that the Al-Hilal (SAU) athlete can still be important for the Seleção. He was injured in October, with the Brazilian national team, during a match against Uruguay, in the qualifiers, in Montevideo. The star, however, is in the final stages of the recovery process.
“Every great player has a place in the Brazilian team. If he is physically fit, motivated and focused, he will be a great reinforcement for the World Cup,” he added.

The difficulties Brazil faced during qualifying were similar to those Cafu has experienced in other World Cup cycles, indicating team unity was a key part of their success.
“We came together, we only thought about playing football and showing the world our value and our potential. We closed ourselves off in favor of a group that had to win the competition and, in the end, it happened. Similar were the blows we received during the qualifiers, it was very difficult, in the end it was very rewarding, with the results obtained”, he recalls.
